Artist’s statement & biography
Art is a vast field of exploration. For as long as I can remember, I have always been drawn to the creative and artistic aspects of things. It’s about thinking, imagining, inventing, and creating. My artistic journey began in childhood, and I nurtured this passion through formal studies, earning a Bachelor’s degree from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre.
I draw inspiration from what I observe and contemplate in daily life. My work is infused with emotions, sensations, and memories. I particularly enjoy using dry techniques, such as pastel and charcoal, which blend softness and strength. Viewing art as a boundless field of exploration allows me the freedom to experiment and open new pathways in my work.
My art focuses on the human body, specifically the female body—its curves, nuances, softness, voluptuousness, and strength. Once the individual pieces are brought together, these body parts form an abstract mass of flesh, whose contours shift and redefine themselves depending on the viewer’s perspective.
