WENZOKI DESIGN is the design brand of Samantha WENZOKI who defines herself as someone who dabbles in everything and has always had a passion for the 1950s: vintage objects, fashion, design, music,…
Her inspiration for her works comes from her desire to transmit good memories and to honour the past generations who fought for the present and future generations.
She wants to celebrate the beautiful years of Zaire with the fight of Mohamed Ali, the concert of James Brown. Her works are also the witness of a nostalgic feeling, the era of Kinshasa the beautiful, a feeling shared by several generations of Congolese and Belgians.
The artist also uses many images of women in her works, either icons to whom she honours or unknown faces, bearing ancient signs (scarifications) whose meaning she knows.
