Laura Arminda Kingsley
questions what it means to be human through a non-hierarchical approach, where the boundaries of race and gender dissolve. Her paintings, sculptures, and performances draw from evolutionary biology to reconnect humans with nature and each other, resisting colonial ideologies that have fractured this unity.
Bie Michels
deconstructs pre-existing images to reveal new meanings, often related to historical or religious narratives. Her practice, both anthropological and poetic, challenges dominant stories and sheds light on social and political realities through visual compositions that blur the line between fiction and reality.
Maliza Kiasuwa
uses reclaimed and industrial materials to weave narratives that reflect her African and European heritage. Her sculptures and collages create spaces of dialogue, questioning global overconsumption while embracing cultural roots symbolized by materials like raffia and rope.
Dembaye N’douba
Dembaye N’Douba embarks on a sensory and emotional exploration of the body, particularly the female body. Using pastels and charcoal, she captures the strength and sensuality of feminine curves while evoking an abstract corporeality, where the texture of skin and flesh becomes a material for meditation.
